EICMA 2010: MV Agusta F3 Revealed
MV Agusta has unveiled the 2011 F3, the Italian manufacturer’s new middleweight three-cylinder sportbike.
Revealed ahead of the 2010 EICMA show in Milan, the 2011 MV Agusta F3 is powered by a 675cc three-cylinder engine the Italian manufacturer claims is the most compact in its category. The engine uses a counter-rotating crankshaft to reduce vibration. No power or torque figures have been released yet.
MV Agusta has equipped the F3 with traction control and multi-map ride-by-wire, a first for both MV Agusta and the middleweight supersport class.
Like other MV Agustas, the F3’s frame is a mix of steel tubing and aluminum side plates. The F3 also uses an elongated single-sided swingarm with an adjustable Sachs shock, while the front features an adjustable Marzocchi fork. The brake system uses a Nissin radial master cylinder and Brembo radial calipers and discs.
Visually, the F3 shares many of the design elements from its bigger sibling, the F4. One key difference is the exhaust system. Instead of the F4’s iconic four organ exhaust pipes under the seat, the F3 uses a triple-pipe side-mounted exhaust.
