Panasonic’s SD10 and TM10: World’s lightest Full HD camcorders

Panasonic has announced the release of the HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 camcorders, which weighs 227grams. Therefore, Panasonic claims are the world’s lightest camcorders with full high-definition capabilities.

The Panasonic HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 have 16x optical zooms, touchscreen controls, optical image stabilization (OIS) and, intelligent scene mode, microSD card slot and a Pre-Rec function that continuously records a 3 second loop until the record button is pressed. The Panasonic HDC-TM10 also has 8GB of its own internal storage.

Both can record Full-HD 1920 x 1080 footage with Panasonic’s iA (”Intelligent Auto”) function, with AF tracking and “Advanced Optical Image Stabilizer”, which automatically selects between scene modes and OIS settings, exposure and face detection, and Intelligent Contrast Control to suit the shooting conditions.

The only difference between the TM10 has 8GB of internal storage and the SD10 has none because it records onto SD memory cards. Both models accept SD cards of up to 32GB capacity.

The Panasonic HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 will be available in the UK in June, priced at $774 and $820 respectively.
